Founded in 2008 in Brundidge, Alabama, Carter Pecan began its journey by purchasing pecans from local growers in South Alabama and Georgia, focusing on exporting to China. The company’s dedication to quality and service quickly established it as a significant player in the global pecan market.
In October 2024, Carter Pecan expanded its operations by acquiring a 137,000-square-foot processing facility in Camilla, Georgia, from SNRA Commodities. This facility, rebranded as Carter Nut Company, offers services such as custom shelling, roasting, retail packaging, and cold storage. This strategic move transformed Carter Pecan from a handler and grower into a fully integrated sheller, enhancing its industry footprint.
Today, Carter Pecan stands as one of the largest inshell pecan exporters globally, with offices in five countries and exports to over 30 different countries. The company’s commitment to quality, innovation, and global reach has solidified its position as a leader in the pecan industry.
